Leroy Edward Marshall departed his earthly life on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his residence. Leroy was born on May 31, 1944 to the late Jason and Ollie Marshall in Pamplin, Virginia.
He was employed at the Taylor Ramsey Sawmill until his retirement. Leroy enjoyed fishing, hunting, planting flowers and spending time with his family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Leonard Marshall; two sisters, Ruth and Wilsie Cobbs; one grandson; Demont Curtis Ligon and one son whom he helped raise, Nakia E. Williams.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted friend of 39 years, Shirley Williams; his children; Sharniece (Kwame) Earley of Meherrin, VA; Mary Ellen Ligon, Bruce Ligon, Felicia (Curtis Lee) Ross all of Alexandria, VA; Alfreda (Timothy) Matthews of Suitland, Maryland; Edward L. Marshall of Oxon, Maryland; Betty-Denise Marshall (Jamarra) Green of Raleigh, North Carolina; Thomas Marshall of Greensville, North Carolina; Terrell Farmer of Alexandria, VA and Shania Jennings of Pamplin, VA. He also leaves three children whom he helped raise; Keith (La’Tricia) Williams of Okinawa, Japan; Toni Watson of Lynchburg, VA and Ryan (Cathleen) Watson, Tacoma, WA.; two sisters; Venice Wesley and Arlene (Lewis) Watson both of Pamplin, VA; three brothers; Melvin and Aubrey (Mattie) Marshall, both of Pamplin, VA and Jason (Alice) Marshall of Appomattox, VA; 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including five dedicated friends; Calvin Ligon, Steve Jennings, Joseph Hartso, Clarence Gilliam and Josh Copeland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Zion Baptist Church in Pamplin, with burial in church cemetery.
Viewing will be at Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home, Appomattox, VA., August 17, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
