Ronald"Butch" Andrews

Ronald Andrews was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2018. 

He was born in Staton Island, New York, on December 21, 1945 to Dorothy and Edward Andrews.  The family later moved to Appomattox, VA where he attended school in Appomattox County (Carver-Price).  He worked many years at Amelia Dress Company.

The family attended First Baptist Church in Appomattox and later joined Galilee Baptist Church where he accepted the Lord and was baptized.

Ronald married Garry Ann Andrews and to their union three children was born.  He was preceded in death by his father Edward Andrews and his sister Goldie Love.  He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Mrs. Dorothy Madison, Appomattox, VA; wife, Garry, Appomattox, VA; daughters, Tonya Andrews, Appomattox, VA; Tammy Brogden (Joel), Chesterfield, VA., son, Ronald Anthony Andrews, Appomattox, VA; brother, John Madison, Jr., sisters, Carol Jackson and Brenda Johns both of Appomattox, VA.; one aunt, Anita Harris; grandchildren, Asia Nyah and Joel Brogden, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other church family and friends.

He is Just Away

I cannot say, and I will not say

That he is dead, he is just away!

With a Cheery Smile and a wave of the hand

He has wandered into an unknown land.

And left us dreaming how very fair

It needs must be, since he lingers there,

And you – oh you, who the wildest yearn

For an old-time step and the glad return.

Think of him fairing on, as dear

In the love of there, as the love of here,

Think of him still as the same, I say.

He is not dead – he is just away.
