Mr. Tommy Fleshman entered into eternal rest at Appomattox Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Appomattox on October the 8th, 2018.
Born on November 30th 1927 in Appomattox County, he was the son of the late Zane Fleshman and Maggie Brimm Fleshman of Appomattox. Tommy joined the Promise Land Baptist Church at an early age.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Fleshman of 64 years of Spout Spring, VA, and one sister, Helen Kelso of Appomattox, VA.
Tommy is preceded in death by his brother John Henry Fleshman; five sisters, Virginia Hancock, Nellie Morgan, Mary Tweedy, and Lizzy and Martha Petty.
Most of his life he spent working at the Lumber Yard in Appomattox, VA. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing when he was young and also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the Promise Land area whom he visited often when he was able to drive.
Left to cherish his memories are five children; Tommy (Tabitha) Fleshman of Roanoke, VA; Henrietta Abbitt of Appomattox, VA; Willard (Doretha) Fleshman of Appomattox, VA; Verna Lois Fleshman of Madison Heights, VA; Ralph Fleshman of Appomattox, VA; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandsons of Lynchburg VA; a great-great grand daughter, two brother-in-law’s and two sister-in-law’s and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
