On July 23, 2018, the Lord called home Walter Jones, Jr. Walter was born on November 29, 1936, in Appomattox, VA., to the late Walter Jones, Sr. and Clara Pennix Jones.
Walter was raised in Appomattox County and attended Carver Price School. He left Appomattox to join the Military (United States Army) where he received an honorable discharge and went on to join the Army National Guard.
After his stint in the Military he went to work for the Department of Public Works in the District of Columbia, where he worked as a painter until his retirement.
Walter was preceded to his heavenly home by his wives, Lillian Jones and Alice Lorraine Austin Watts Jones and one (1) grandchild (Demetrius Clark).
To cherish his memories, Walter leaves his children; Sharon Fleshman (Herbert), Brigid Goldring, Sheena Webb (Lacy), Theresa Accoo, Sidney Watts, Jr. (Qwenetta), Laverne Hix, Tony Watts, Subrina Clark (Barry) and Kiahree Watts, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and (2) two great-great-great grandchildren along with a host of brothers and sisters-in-law. He also leaves other family and friends.
Walter was a God loving man who enjoyed his Church. So, the family would like to say a special “Thank You” to his church family (Jesus Center) for being there for him over the years before and after the passing of his “Alice”.
