William M. (Willie) Pankey

Mr. William M. (Willie)  Pankey, 88,  departed this life at Lynchburg General Hospital on September 17, 2019 in Lynchburg, VA.  He was born on January 20, 1931 to the late Roosevelt and Annie Johnson Pankey in Buckingham County. Willie lived in Appomattox County until his health declined and then he resided at Johnson Senior Center in Amherst, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, DuVall Pankey and Leslie Alexander Pankey, Sr., and his wife Irene Glover Pankey.  Willie is survived by his brother Roosevelt Pankey, Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Appomattox, VA., two sisters; Mrs. Ada Pankey Lake of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Juanita Pankey Calloway and husband Charles of Cleveland, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memories. 

A Funeral will be held from the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home Chapel, 1121 Old Courthouse  Rd, Appomattox,  Va at 1PM  on Thursday,  September 26, 2019. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 25,2019, 12 noon until 5 p.m. Interment will follow in the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, 6074 Watt Abbitt Road, Appomattox, VA.
