Alfred Thornton, Jr. (Big Jr.) was called to eternal rest on September 21st, 2020. He was born to the late Alfred and Dorothy Thornton.
Alfred married Annie Mae Fleshman and this union was blessed with one daughter, two step-daughters, and one step-son.
During their entire time together Alfred and Annie lived in Appomattox. Alfred was very good with his hands; he liked fishing and playing horseshoes. He left a lasting impact on anyone he ever came in contact with.
He is survived by his wife, Annie of Appomattox, VA; one daughter, Angela (Mike) Trent, two step-daughters, Wanda Booker and Sylvia Cardwell and one step-son, Gary Booker, all of Appomattox, VA., 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Linda) Thornton, Bobby Thornton; four sisters, Mary Lee Elliot, Pat (William) Jones, Ruby Fleshman and a very special devoted sister, Jackie Smith. Alfred was predeceased by one brother, Aubrey Thornton.
Alfred also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends to cherish his memory.
A private immediate family memorial service is being held for Mr. Alfred Thornton, Jr.
