Colonel D. Walker

            Colonel Duguid Walker was born on November 25, 1950 to Jesse and Hilda Walker.  He departed this life peacefully at his home on April 13, 2023 after a long battle with several illnesses.

            At a very young age, C.D. accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was an avid reader and nature enthusiast.  C.D. loved to study the Word of God and taught Sunday school at the Triumph Baptist Church in Darlington Heights, VA.  He also was a Trustee and continued coming to service until his health no longer allowed him to.  He was educated by the Appomattox and Prince Edward County School Districts during the time of the Civil Rights Movement and was unable to graduate with his diploma, however, he obtained his G.E.D.  He was an avid supporter of self-study and always urged people to never let education be a stumbling block to success.

            C.D. was a hard-working man and was employed by several organizations such as the United States Navy, the Department of Corrections, and Southern Railway and most importantly he was a long-time business owner of LAW Enterprises, LLC, which provided employment to many people in the community.  C.D. was also a long-time member of the Echoes of Glory and Lee Walker and Spirit.

            C.D. was preceded in death by his father and mother Jesse and Hilda Walker.  He leaves to cherish his wife of 50 years Rosalee Walker, 4 sons, James (Wendy), Michael (Cynthia), Lee (Katrina), Troy (Shanta), many grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind 2 sisters, Pamela and Katherine and 4 brothers, Steward, Jessie (Junior), Donald and Michael.

            C.D. will be greatly missed, and he was admired by many in the construction community, quartet community, local community and abroad.  He had a warm personality, would talk plenty of trash, and never knew a stranger in a room.  His legacy will live on.

A funeral service for Mr. Colonel Walker will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 2PM at Triumph Baptist Church, 2756 Darlington Heights Rd., Cullen, VA. Viewing will be held from 1PM to 2PM with the service commencing at 2PM.

Per the family request there will be no public viewing at the funeral home.
