“For we believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him”.
~~ 1st Thessalonians 4:12-14
Don Warren Fleshman, 54, of Appomattox, Virginia entered his eternal rest peacefully on May, 12, 2023, after a long illness.
Don was born on September 30, 1968 to the late John Henry Fleshman, Sr., and Elizabeth Wright. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his sister Dreama.
He was a member of Promise Land Baptist Church and a graduate of Appomattox County High School. Don was a steel erector for W.A. Stratton Construction Company, Inc. for 14 years.
It was a joy to be around Don, he kept you laughing even when he was declining. He loved giving people a helping hand when needed, but most of all fishing was his best subject.
Those left to cherish his memories are his two daughters, Jazzmin Davis and Megan Fleshman; three grandchildren, Auna Reid, King Davis and Dae’zhon Reid; mother, Elizabeth Wright; three sisters, Mary Jackson, Shirley Fleshman and Carolyn Wright; four brothers, Larry Fleshman (Laura), Frank Wright, John Fleshman, Jr., and Marlon Fleshman; two aunts, Mattie Edmondson and Edna Wright; one uncle; Elzies Wright; dedicated friends, Nancy, Carl, Johnny, Matt, Joe, Daryl, Jesse, James, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because He lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back or you can open our eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him, or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want; smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. Fleshman on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 11 a.m. at the Promise Land Baptist Church. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 15, 2023, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
