Donald “Duck” Lee Lewis entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2021. He was born in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Claude and Ida Lewis.
Donald was married to Terry Lewis and they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. He joined Mt. Airy Baptist Church at an early age.
Donald worked for Counts and Dobyns for many years. He enjoyed creating memories by doing things he loved, such as hunting, and fishing with his brother’s, other family members and friends. He also loved spending time with his life-long friend/brother, George "Buck" Ferguson. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. "Duck", as many called him, was a wonderful and faithful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He will forever be missed by everyone.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ida Lewis, one brother; Alphonso E. Lewis, two Sisters; Vivacious C. Megginson, and Valencia N. Revely.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Terry; his three daughters, Danielle (Keith), Tanisha (Chris), and Crystal “Shae” (Josh) all of Appomattox, VA; eight sisters, Verta M. Rose, Velda D. Lewis, Eleanor T. Cobbs, Charlene W.U. Lewis, Rosetta Y. Douglas (Sylvester) all of Lynchburg, VA; Vanessa D. Spinner (Phillip) of Appomattox, VA; Wanda G. Revely (Mark) of Florida; Lucille E. Cook of Durham, N.C.; three brothers, Vickie C. Lewis (Joann), Edwin "Bam" J. Lewis (Silisa) of Appomattox, VA; Vernie M. Lewis (Juanita) of Rustburg, VA.; eleven grandchildren: Isaiah, Malachi, Kateri, Kaniya, Tristan, Cameron, Autumn "Angel", Jaxon, Josiah "Jo-Jo" or "Papa’s Big Man", Josahn and a blessing on the way; brother-in-law, Ralph Revely, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. from the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home Chapel.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. from the chapel of Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home.
