Doris Marie Marshall

On Sunday, January 14, 2018, Doris Marie Marshall, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, departed this life at Lynchburg General Hospital and went home to be with the Lord.  She was a daughter of the late Willie Green and Roxie Wright Green. 

Doris was proceeded in death by one brother, Ronald Green, and two sisters, Diane Watkins and Catherine Little.

She was born in Prince Edward County where she attended the public school system.  There, she was a devoted student and had many friends.  Marie, as many loved to call her, enjoyed reading, writing, cross word puzzles, and entertaining her many friends.

Doris leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Melvin Marshall of Pamplin, VA., one son, MarKese Carter of Lynchburg, VA., one daughter, Keoke Carter of Pamplin, VA.; two sisters, Edith Carter of Farmville, VA and Patricia Vaughan (Rev. Willie) of Farmville, VA., two brothers, Billie Green of Prospect, VA, James Green of Appomattox, VA.; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

You are not forgotten

Nor will you ever be.

No one can fill your vacant place

Looking back with memories

Upon the path you trod

We bless the time we had with you

And leave the rest to God.
