“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, called home our precious wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Irene was born to the late Richard Elder and Helen H. Elder on April 26, 1971, who preceded her in death.
She was the loving wife of Joe R. Fleshman, Jr. Irene was a Washington Commander football fan. She was a quiet and loving lady who could get along with everyone.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Elizabeth Jones (Jadakiss) and Diamond Fleshman (Cecil). Irene had six grandkids whom she adored: Kyleigh Pollard, KhiReem Jones, Kaniyah Johnson, Ely Arrington, Rose Fleshman, and Remington Ogden. Irene had two brothers, James and Ricky Elder (Melissa); one sister, Jennifer Wheeler; adopted daughters, Brittnay Wright and Ernestine Wright (Tonyka); two sisters-in-law, Carlene Fleshman and Gloria Bailey; two brothers-in-law, John Bailey (Leigh), and James Fleshman (Juanita); two devoted friends who were like sisters to Irene, Verna Croner (Leon) and Jean Robinson (Vincent) and aunt Betty Younger along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Fleshman will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 12 noon from the Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home Chapel.
