Jackie Wilson Obituary

Jackie Monroe Wilson quietly entered into eternaI rest on Sunday, January 29th, 2023, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was born to the late James Monroe Wilson and Myrtle J. Wilson on March 11, 1961.

Jackie completed his education at Prince Edward County Public Schools where he also played basketball and football. Upon graduating high school he joined the United States Army and served there untiI being honorably discharged as a disabled Veteran. After his time in the army, Jackie worked as a manager at Phillip Morris in Richmond, Va.

Growing up in Darlington Heights, Va., Jackie became quite the competitor in neighborhood sports. He loved it all from playing horseshoes and basketball to fishing. It was pure joy for him to just hang out and create fond memories with neighborhood family and friends. As an adult, Jackie moved to Baltimore where he worked for Citibank and Comcast. lt is here that he embraced new family and friends and found his love for horse racing. Jackie had the biggest heart and greeted all those he loved with a smile and warm embrace. He was cool funny, charismatic, intelligent, and was never one to shy away from telling hilarious childhood stories. Jackie had an infectious laugh, a laugh that could brighten up anyone's spirit. He was truly a joy to have in our lives and will be forever missed by all those who loved and knew him.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving sister, Daphne Hunt (Dallas) of Darlington Heights, Va. His devoted brother and best friend, Harry F. Wilson (Helen) of Griswold, CT. Uncles, Johnson N. Johnson (Brenda) of Baltimore, MD., William E. Johnson of Darlington Heights, Va., Claiborne Wilson of Cullen, VA., Thomas Wilson of Washington D.C., Bernard Cooley of Md., and Aunt, Ethyl Green. Loving nieces Shakila "KiKi" Wilson of Woodbridge, Va., and Shaneka "Nae Nae" Muhammad (Abdul) of Stafford, Va. Great nieces and nephews Ayanna K. Wilson, Samir A. Muhammad, and Nia G. Muhammad. A great great nephew Euro Wilson. A devoted friend, Wanda "Niecy" Marshall Special friends Yvette, Neil and Mr. Paul all of Baltimore, Md. Last but certainly not least Jackie leaves to cherish his memories, his hometown buddies: Earl, Daniel, David, Nuck, Dennis,  Lil Willie, Woodrow, Raymond and a host of loving relatives, cousins and friends.

A funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be  held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, 2 p.m. at the Triumph Baptist Church, 2756 Darlington Heights Rd., Darlington Heights, VA  23934

He will lie in repose one hour prior to the service at the church.  There will be NO funeral home viewing.
