James Otis "Jimmy" Jones

James Otis “Jimmy” Jones, 79, was born to the late James R. and Alice W. Jones on January 22, 1943.  Jimmy departed this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at his residence.

Jimmy joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age.  He was employed and retired from Montgomery County Building Services of Maryland for 30 years.  He married Mary Louise Hill Roberts in May of 1997.

In addition to his parents, the following four siblings preceded him in death; Milton, Kenneth, Terry and Darnell.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Mary; two sisters, both of Appomattox, VA – Geraldine Glover and Beverly (Garrett) Johnson; three brothers, Robert of Maryland, Leslie (Louise) of Appomattox, VA, Stanley (Lisa) of Buckingham, VA, sister-in-law Lucille Jones, Appomattox, VA and one aunt Roberta Spencer of Buckingham, VA.  Jimmy also leaves to cherish his memories his step-children, a host of many devoted cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  He will be missed by all, so we say “Rest in Peace”

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 11 am at Springfield Baptist Church.  Public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, 2pm until 6pm at the Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home.  Wearing of facial masks are required.
