Johnnie Whitfield Evans, son of the late Reginald and Queen Elizabeth Evans, was born on January 3, 1941. He quietly entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at his sister’s home in Darlington Heights, Virginia.
Johnnie loved to watch westerns and his trademark was having a toothpick hanging out from the corner of his mouth. He moved to Baltimore at a young age and returned to his family home once his health started to decline.
Johnnie was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Brown and three brothers, Edward Dungee and Reginald and James Evans. He leaves to cherish his memory, five daughters, Tish Thomas (Vincent), Janice Henry (Melvin), Cheryl Hamilton, Donna Byard and Monica Simons; his sisters, Lena Womack and Majorie Wesley; two brothers, Willie Evans (Diane) and Walter Evans (Cynthia); one sister-in-law, Marie Dungee; one brother-in-law, David Adams; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Johnnie also leaves a devoted nephew James Owens, devoted cousin James Watkins and a devoted friend Joanne Beard.
A funeral service for Mr. Johnnie Evans will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, October 9, 2021 from the chapel of Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Per Mr. Evans' request, there will be no burial.
