Margaret (Harvey) Lampkin

On Sunday, December 25, 2022, Margaret Mae Harvey Lampkin passed away from this earthly life peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was born on February 13, 1931, to the late Annie Flood.  Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Lampkin, Sr., and her son Dwight A. Lampkin.

Margaret joined the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at an early age where she served as chairperson of the Pastor’s Aide Club and worked in other various areas with the church.

Over 90 years of age still driving to the church, she remained a faithful member and most of time she would be the first one there.

Margaret was employed by Courtland Manufacturing for over 40 years until she retired.

Rejoicing in her memory of love are her children, James Harvey (Frances) of Appomattox, VA; Jon L. Lampkin, Jr., San Diego, CA, Margaret Nappier and Priscilla Lampkin both of Lynchburg, VA., granddaughter, Tiara L. Robinson (Ed) of Richmond, VA, a special friend Georgia Elliott, and a host of relatives, neighbors and many friends.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore, as time goes by, and we will miss you more. No one can fill your vacant place.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, 1 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 611 Chestnut Grove Rd., Appomattox, VA.   Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home.
