Nannie Belle (Harvey) Lewis

~In Loving Memory of Our Mother~

Nannie Belle Lewis died in the early morning hours of September 24, 2022 at the beautiful age of 91.  She was at her daughter’s home at Elkins Park, PA at the time of her passing, where she has lived for the past 2-1/2 years.  Nannie was born to Lucinda and Robert Harvey, Sr. in Spout Spring, VA, where she lived most of her life. 

She attended public school in Appomattox County Virginia and was a member of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church since her youth.

Nannie Belle was married to Warner Lewis in 1948; to this union 9 children were born.  She was preceded in death by her husband (1989) and two sons in infancy, Joseph and Robert, and later her eldest child, Junior, in 2011.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Maxine Sykes, Patricia A. Lewis of Elkins Park, PA,  and Constance Lewis-Watson (Michael) of Philadelphia, PA; three sons, Walter and Lawrence Lewis of Spout Spring, VA, and James Lewis of Henrico, VA; one  sister, Winnie H. Purvines of Philadelphia, PA; one granddaughter, Nechel Easley (OraShelby) of Philadelphia, PA; one grandson, Michael A. Watson, Jr. and one great granddaughter, Sharlena Easley; three sisters-in-laws, Mary Lewis of Madison Heights, VA, Celestine Harvey of Bedford, VA and Margaret Harvey of Spout Spring, VA, and a host of nephews, nieces  other family members and friends.
 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, 5224 Reedy Spring Rd., Spout Spring, VA.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Facial masks are required.
