On Sunday, January 31, 2021, God sent his angels down to Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, VA to bring home HIS beloved son Oliver Lee Chambers. Born on September 23, 1946, he was the second child born to the late Spencer Lee Chambers and Alimond Odell Chambers.
At an early age, Oliver joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Appomattox, VA. Oliver was a fun-loving person who loved to laugh and put a smile on your face. He loved the outdoors and spent much time gardening and loved to share his salad greens, string beans, cucumbers, corn, watermelon, and other items and working with his livestock. Oliver was an avid fan of the Appomattox Raiders. He attended schools in Appomattox County and graduated in 1965 from Carver-Price High School. Soon after he entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. A Purple Heart is a solemn distinction and means a service member has greatly sacrificed themselves or paid the ultimate price while in the line of duty. After the military, his employment included Intermet Foundry, Buckingham Correctional Center, and Simplimatic Automation.
