Samuel Thomas Woodson

Mr. Samuel Thomas Woodson, 82, born April 16, 1942, departed this life on August 7, 2024 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a son to the late Samuel Richard Woodson and the late Frances Jamerson Woodson.   Samuel was predeceased in death by his daughter Connie Hall and grandson Timothy Hall.

For enjoyment, he loved watching the Las Vegas Raiders, working on antique furniture, and spending time with his two Boston Terriers. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Samuel is survived by his loving wife Barbara Kelso Woodson of the home; two sons, Timothy Woodson of Forest, VA, and Michael Matthews of Lynchburg, VA.  Two step-children, Karen Jones of Appomattox, VA and Margaret Kelso of Petersburg, VA; siblings Jane Matthews, Richard Woodson (Sandra), and Kathy Ragland (Herman), six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Samuel Woodson will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12 in the Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home chapel.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from noon until 5 p.m. at Bruce and Stiff Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Reedy Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
