Sidney Aurelius Watts

Sidney Aurelius Johnson Watts, Sr., 83 of Appomattox, Virginia went

home on May 6, 2023. He was born May 25, 1939 to the late Aurelius and Ruth Louise Watts.  

Sidney is survived by ten children, Sharon (Herbert) Freshman, Brigid Goldring, Sheena (Lacy) Webb, Sidney (Qwenetta) Watts, Laverne Hix and Tony Watts, of Appomattox, Virginia, Theresa Accoo of Centreville, Virginia and Subrina Clark of Lynchburg, Virginia, Clint (Coretta) Walker of Clearwater, Florida and Kenton Watts of Greensboro, NC.  

He was raised in Spout Spring, Virginia, attended Carver-Price School, Appomattox, Virginia and went into the US Army once he finished high school. After serving two years in the military, he went to work for the railroad until retirement.  

Sidney lived life to the fullest, and will be missed by his family and friends.  

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, 1 p.m. at the chapel of Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home.  Mr. Watts will lie in repose one hour prior to the service.  There will be NO funeral home viewing.
