Funeral services, visitations and/or wakes at the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home will be limited to ten (10) persons and social distancing as per the Executive Order by Governor Ralph Northam’s Executive Order Number Fifty-Five (2020) effective March 30, 2020. Our staff is working to apply these new protocols to all funeral services amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Luther is a man of many hats as he is the owner of the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home; manager, licensed funeral director and embalmer as well as a professional fire fighter/medic to name a few.
He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Victoria, VA where he serves a chair of the deacon board.
Luther is married to Denise Bridgeforth Drummond. They have one son, Luther III and a daughter, Shavonne.

Known to all by "Marco" he has been with the funeral home for 28+ years.
When you see any of our vehicles they will be as clean as if they just came of the assembly line and he maintains service on them also.
Marco is employed by BWXT in Lynchburg. For his spiritual needs he is a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Appomattox, VA.

Retired Chaplin/Funeral Attendant
Minister McKoy currently serves as Chaplin and also funeral attendant. He fulfills his calling as a model of spiritual virtue in his biblical ministry and has pastored for 22 consecutive years.
His community service involves a singing ministry at local nursing homes and churches and still preaches the gospel to a sin-sick world. Ed incorporated his ministry as he met and greeted customers during his 30 years of employment at Webb Tire Company.
Ed has been married to the love of his life, Wanda McCoy McKoy for 30 years and parents of one son and two grandsons.
From a previous marriage, Ed has three sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren.
Ed has retired from the funeral home but will always be a part of us.

Office Clerk/Funeral Attendant
Frances brings many
years of administrative skills to the funeral home through her 42 years as an
Administrative Office Specialist at Central Virginia Community College,
Lynchburg, VA. Professional organizations
included the Virginia Community College Association and the International
Association of Administrative Professionals. In addition to her years
there as Administrative Office Specialist, she studied Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) and was a first responder at CVCC if needed.
She has been the
Recording Secretary as well as board member of The Appomattox County Assembly,
Inc.
Since joining the staff
of the funeral home Frances studied Funeral Services and received a Diploma.
She is a Notary Public for the state of
Virginia and provides this service.
As a people-person, she
enjoys assisting the many families as they enter the funeral home doors and
praying for the souls of their deceased loved one.
For her spiritual
guidance, she is a member of the Cross Road Baptist Church, Evington, VA.
Previously she was a cast member of Essence of Life Drama Ministries.
For enjoyment, she loves to cruise to various parts of the country to see some of the beauty that God has given to us.
Frances and her
husband Milton of 40+ years are the proud parents of two sons, Sean and
Damon and a little cousin Alissa!

Maintenance/Funeral Attendant
Milton comes to the funeral home with many skills. Attending Central Virginia Community College, Lynchburg, VA he studied and became a licensed HVAC Technician with also brings many other skills as well.
Milton is a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pamplin, VA where he serves as a trustee. In Appomattox, VA he is the president of The Appomattox County Assembly, Inc. which is a community non-profit service organization that owns and operates the Carver-Price Cultural Center.
In 1975 Milton united in holy matrimony with Frances Chambers. To this union, God blessed his family with two sons, Sean and Damon, and recently blessed him with a beautiful little baby goddaughter, Alissa.
For entertainment, Milton spends many hours playing the game of chess and loves to cruise around the world!

Known to everyone as Sue, she has been employed at the funeral home for over 20 years.
Sue is known for her skills with preparing many delectable dishes.
She is a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Appomattox, VA.

Born and raised in Virginia, Minister Fleshman graduated
from the Appomattox County High School.
From there he continued his education at Longwood University, Farmville,
VA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from. At present he is studying at Liberty
University in Lynchburg, VA.
Maliki is the son of Rev.
& Mrs. Henry Fleshman, Jr. of Appomattox, VA. Minister Fleshman is a member of the
Springfield Baptist Church in Appomattox, VA where he is a very active member
and lives his life for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loves his gospel music and is more than happy to play and sing as he ministers.
As a young man full of energy and enthusiasm, he joined us in 2019 and brings much to the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home and we are happy to have him.

Denise is the wife of our owner, Luther Drummond, Jr., and the mother of Luther Drummond, III.

Barbara joined the team in January, 2021. She is the daughter of the late Deacon Roosevelt Pankey and Elizabeth W. Pankey.
For enjoyment, she loves to shop and spend time with family.
Her spiritual needs are met at Springfield Baptist Church where her pastor is the Reverend John Braxton.
